My Opinion? … I Like This Guy.

OK … a week ago I had never heard of “This Guy”.  Of course, the only current or recent NBA head coaches I “might” could name are Steve Kerr, Gregg Popovich and JJ Redick.  Those first two because they are hard-core, quite insane, obscenity screeching TrumpMAGA Haters … and JJ is, of course, “JJ”. 

The ONLY Charlotte Hornets Head Coach I can name would be “Dick Harter” and that was 25+ years ago.  Who forgets a name like Dick Harter?  I’d be hard pressed to name a dozen current NBA players much less coaches.  Hellfire, I can’t name three WNBA teams much less coaches or players (not named Catlin or Sophie).

Any opinions I might have – and will be sharing below – about Michael Malone (that IS his name, right?) have developed over the past three days.   

Coach Malone’s opinions about Donald Trump and MAGA guys like me … whether he (Malone) is mentioned in the Epstein files … Did he ever have a liason with a “sports journalist(?)” at a remote Arizona hide-away ala Mike Vrabel – YIKES! … Does he (Malone) “Hate Jews” … Does he think we “faked the moon landing … and 9/11 … and Kennedy’s Assassination … and COVID” … and, and, and …  and what is his opinion on con-trails and Candace Owens and barbeque – vinegar or tomato sauce? … Where O’ Where is Silent Sam? …… I don’t know ANY of that YET … but surely some pathetic no-life Franklin Street board monkey and/or some equally pathetic no-life Hated Rivals are deep diving the Dark Web to find out.  Sordid details should begin trickling out any minute now … 

FWIW: I also applaud NC State’s selection of alum Justin Gainey as the solution to their most unusual WTH with Will WhatsHisName.

Other than THAT, BobLee

…. “How was the play” is an old line regarding Mary Todd Lincoln attending a performance at Ford’s Theatre at which a certain Mr John W. Booth was also on hand. I “care about” two college football teams – UNC & Missouri …. THUNK! Saturday was a character builder for someone of my sporting preferences (duh!) We stayed at our favorite B&B, saw Phineus Teague, met some new fine folks but otherwise the weekend sucked swampwater.

Vera Loves Lucy

Having breakfast Wednesday AM at (duh!) a WAFFLE HOUSE on I-85 in Anderson SC; I was apondering over a show I had put on Tuesday night in Toccoa GA …. The show had gone over well but several stories sorta fizzled as I overestimated my audience’s “pop-culture quotient”. …. The term Generational Touchstones was turning over in my sinus-congested head when I heard a dead ringer for “Vera” reference “Lucy and the chocolate factory”. …. Now you’re saying “who is Vera”? Which goes to my point.

The last time UNC FB “dominated” a good team Monica Lewinsky was an unknown chubbette and The Torbush Era began at UNC (’98 Gator Bowl). …. Under a leaky October sky, 45,000 hardy Kenanites hopped back aboard The Butch Bandwagon for a trip to Boise and beyond …. And we speak of fans, coordinators and zebras.

Who ARE These Guys?

…. Baseball has always been “my sport” …. It’s the one at which I was less un-skilled as a youth and my choice for general spectatoring. Yes, I do love my Fall Color & Pageantry gridfests but for this American my favorite past time is still Baseball. So, who are all these fuzzy-cheeked whozits playing in October? ….. and BobLee has a Butch & Jimma Update if anyone is interested.

Moses & Cocoanut Shrimp Amid The Pines

…. Heels scald the do…. “Where was Moses when the lights went out?” was a ditty that Mamma used to recite to little BobLee. Neither Mamma nor you would ever guess “where BobLee was when the lights went out” among Kenan’s fabled pines. It involves Napa Valley, cocoanut shrimp, huggin’ the Chancellor’s wife and Sarah Palin. …. BUT there were no cheerleaders in the toilet stall.
