I am 100% Cancer-Free … WE WON! YIPPEEE
My latest PET Scan last week showed ZERO Hodgkin’s Lymphoma cells! Not a total surprise. My oncologist was optimistic as all my recent bloodwork was consistent with that result. My 10 months as a member of the “I have cancer” club has expired. No more “chemo”.
I will receive three more infusions of antibodies to build up resistance to the cancer returning over the next 3-5 years.
I only have my one experience as a measure, but, the entire staff at Duke/Raleigh Cancer Center has been AWESOME! I cannot say enough about their professionalism. and their sincere compassion for their patients.
“Cancer patients” are a breed apart. The original diagnosis is scary as Hell and the anxiety level is off the chart.
40 years ago, when “Blondie” and I agreed “…. in sickness and in health” … WHO KNEW what that would entail. In addition to being The World’s Best Political News Aggregator, Blondie is a World-class in-house caregiver.
Remember Little Ruthie’s “Dear God …” letter two weeks before my condition began dramatic improvement? When I told her that God answered her letter she was not one bit surprised. Of course He did!
Now back to full-time Saving America … at least that part still worth saving ….
CHAOS in College Football ….
* That plan just 10 days ago to build a statue to Kalen DeBoer in Tuscaloosa has been put on indefinite hold. Bids to build a gallows instead have been let.
* Meanwhile in Tallahassee, a second Trail of Tears for Seminoles is well underway. Did ya know that Mike Novell was Alabama’s back-up choice to replace Nick? OUCH …
* FWIW … I enjoy Nick on Gameday. The son-of-gun knows Football. As for McAfee … he is an acquired taste I have yet to acquire; but I’m probably not his target market. I’m not sure I am ANYBODY’s “target market” any more.
* I’m pulling for the Padres to go all the way. Their manager – Mike Shildt – is from Charlotte and we have some mutual friends. Mike got a dirty deal from the Cardinals.
* I told you that “mediocre” might be the word for this season “amid Kenan’s lofty pines”. These days many along Frank’s Street would settle for “mediocre”.
No, I do NOT have any “inside info” concerning the future of Mack2.0. My “guess” is that he will NOT be UNC’s HFC on December 1, 2024. The $pecific$ of how that will be negotiated are TBD.
Rumor has it that Mack’s agent – wife Sallie – wants the Zeiss Telescope from Morehead Planetarium … two blocks of prime real estate on Franklin Street and a framed copy of the original Rathskellar menu AND their lasagna recipe – or Mack stays around until 2027 !!!
If it was me I would go the “lame duck” route ASAP as UNC did with “Burly John” Bunting … giving Bubba free rein to contact possible “nexts”.
Urban, Nick and Belichek are probably not on “the short list”.
There are key dates in early December regarding recruiting and The Portal. Any uncertainty regarding UNC FB at that time could mean “next year’s” roster will be composed of intra-mural walk-ons and a handful of “tranys” from Cobb Dorm or the Tri Delt house. … at best
Here’s a fun thought to mull over. Remember “Chancellor Chihuahua”? Of course you do. She somehow ended up as Top Chihuahua at USC … the one in LA, not the one in Columbia. She has a fast developing HFBC issue of her own. Howsabout a trade of Lincoln Riley to UNC with USC covering 50% of his salary. Make it happen, Bubba. Chihuahua can rehire Lane Kiffen. or Sark or WhoCares Who.
Methinks Lincoln is better suited for the more gentlemanly ACC than Big Boy Football in the Big 18.
* I may have been correct on UNC’s mediocrity but apparently I missed on NCSU’s Dream Season. OUCH! Yeah, Dour Dave can still go 9-3 and a Whozit Bowl but The Clawson Curse got him again. The Dump Doeren Mob has crawled out from its rock and is making obscene posts again. BUT, of course, not offering to cover Dave’s mega-$$$ buy-out. The Sleeping Giant @ The Fairgrounds shall not awaken this season … although a fourth whuppin’ of UNC is still possible.
* Is it time – or passed time – for The ACC both as a conference and for each individual member institution to decide …

You all know how I would vote if I had a vote. Ask Mike Novell how a roster of Rent-a-Players works out.
How many current players at UNC or NCSU know (or care) who “Choo Choo” or Roman Gabriel were? Does that matter to you?
The over-caffeinated fans who don’t care but JUST WIN are NOT going to be funding that NIL/Transfer war chest regardless. Like “illegal aliens” they should not get a vote.
