Over the course of several hours, a quiet residential neighborhood in AnyTown USA has its daily routines altered. Their taken-for-granteds taken away. Paranoia overwhelms the residents of “Maple Street”. Neighbors blame neighbors. Violence consumes the neighborhood. … The camera pans back showing two “aliens from outer space” observing:
Alien One: …Just disrupt their daily routines they take for granted.. Throw them into darkness for a few hours, and then sit back and watch the pattern. With few variations. They pick the most dangerous enemy they can find, and it’s themselves. All we need do is sit back and watch.
Alien Two: Then I take it this place, this Maple Street is not unique.
Alien One: By no means. Their world is full of Maple Streets. We’ll let them destroy themselves. One to the other, one to the other …
Narrator / Rod Serling: The tools of conquest do not necessarily come with bombs and explosions and fallout. Simple thoughts, attitudes, prejudices are weapons to be found only in the minds of men. Prejudices can kill, and suspicion can destroy, and a thoughtless frightened search for a scapegoat has a fallout all of its own … for the residents of … Main Street USA.

Instead of “space aliens” … substitute the CCP – Chinese Communists Party. … sitting back, enjoying America Destroy Itself. Abandoning its fundamental principals in favor of barbaric anarchy.
Americans angrily and irreparably divided …. overt media-fueled hyperbole … corrupt politicians of both parties trading accusations of who is more corrupt … the supposed “Leaders” of our nation behaving like kindergarteners without their daily Ritalin dose.
The CCP watch and patiently wait … as the very foundation that made America The Greatest Nation in History crumbles. For “That Shining City on a Hill” to self-destruct.
