Imagine being Dickie Burr, spending 3 terms as a Senator and the single lasting memory will be that he was the little Dutch Boy with all 20 fingers and toes plugged into the leaking dam keeping the swamp from draining. The DOJ should have nailed his rotten tail for insider trading after dumping his stocks at the first Covid briefing, but swamp does what swamp does. So brave of him. It shows that at least those up there who were offended by Trump have long memories.
It makes no sense whatsoever. He knew his vote was not going to make a difference in the outcome … so why totally piss off your base as you exit the political stage? He was never going to be charged with insider trading since its common practice in The Swamp. Just don’t be stupid enough to get caught … like Slick Willie & Monica. Its my understanding Burr’s next gig is – no surprise – as “a lobbyist” – providing Insider Trading tips to DC pols in exchange for favorable votes for his clients … operating out of his new oceanside manse at OBX.
I think the time has come to replace the socialist democrats and the lazy-azz GOP who has yet to raise their voice to the socialist and will do nothing. As you so plainly put it: we have a 80-year old spoiled cheerleader, a communist VP and a senile, puppet for a President. Time has come for a new party, maybe two. Our country is indeed in dire straits … the most serious threat to its continuing existence in its 250 years. There is so much chaos on so many levels all of which combine to overwhelm us. We get sidetracked arguing with AOC or a Bruce Springsteen commercial … while “our politicians” on both sides are being employed by CCP !!! . The 3rd Party concept is perilous at best as the majority of $$$$ to support national campaigns comes from corporate donors and PACs.
